Nike empowering 'Dream Crazier' ad

In an era that people are moving towards empowering women and breaking stereotypes, Nike came up with a fascinating ad that featured many female athletes and debuted their campaign 'Dream crazier' during the Oscars on the 24th of Feb, 2019. On an overall performance perspective, Nike's aggregate sales increased by 11% in 2019 compared to 2018, according to statstic.com financial reports.

However, the ad addresses important issues such as empowering women, a fair society, equal payment, equal rights, and other similar problems that impact mostly all women in all corners of the globe, whether they are in sports, business, or any other field.

Then it talks about the biggest issue which is women are expected to obey the rules and not break them because breaking the rules is insane and a challenge to male superiority in sports and society. However, the ad is addressing a very good question; Are you ,women, who are expressing their feelings, who are trying so hard to prove themselves anywhere they step in, are you considered absurd? crazy? completely nuts?

Serena Williams narrates the advertisement which depicts several turning points in the lives of female athletes. Other athletes featured in the ad including Simon Biles, Ibtihaj Muhammad, Chloe Kim, and some other players of the United States soccer team.

The ad is brilliant as it features many female athletes with different ages and living different phases in their life with different cultures. This can be a huge indicator that all women across the globe are facing the same problems even if they are different.

Eventually, 'Dream Crazier' tells us that the answer to all of these complications and to the question that was mentioned before is that you can't be cute on the field or your adversaries will think they are the best. Women are natural-born-warriors; they are unstoppable, they are fighters. In the world of women, such obstacles take on a completely different meaning. They cannot be bound by the rules and must overcome them through immense perseverance.
